TOWN OF SANTA CLARA BOARD MEETINGS

Minutes of the Pubic Hearings of the Santa Clara Town Board held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, Saranac Inn, NY Town Hall at 6:30 P.M.

Roll as follows for the Public Hearings and Special Meeting:

Public Hearing on the proposed Saranac Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc. contract was convened at 6:30 P.M. by Supervisor Webb. The new contract with the Saranac Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc. is for the furnishing of pre-hospital emergency medical care and transport ambulance services of the sick and injured within the borders of the Town. The proposed contract states that its term shall be for a period of one year commencing January 1, 2017 and terminating December 31, 2017 and that the amount to be paid by the Town to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Ambulance Squad, Inc.for providing such services shall be $28,270.00.

Saranac Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc. will cover the Keeses Mills Road/Bay Pond area and from the Fish Hatchery Road to Moss Rock Road.

Public Hearing on the proposed Tri-Lakes Humane Society contract for Dog Control and Shelter Service within the Town was convened at 6:35 P.M. The contract is for the period of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017 for the amount of $875.00.

Public Hearing on the proposed St. Regis Falls Ambulance Corporation contract was convened at 6:40 P.M. The contract is for the furnishing of pre-hospital emergency medical care and transport ambulance services of the sick and injured for District 1, the Hamlet of Santa Clara. The proposed contract is for the period of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019. At a rate of $4,100.00 for the year of 2017, $4,182.00 for the year 2018 and $4,260.00 for the year 2019.

Public Hearing on the proposed St. Regis Falls Fire District contract was convened at 6:45 P.M. The proposed contract is for fire coverage in District 1, the Hamlet of Santa Clara. The proposed contract is for the period of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019. At a rate of $4,160.00 for the year of 2017, $4,240.00 for the year 2018 and $4,325.00 for the year 2019.

All those wishing to make oral or written comments having been heard, the Public Hearings were adjourned at 6:50 P.M. on the motion of Rick Lyon, seconded by Tom Kimpton. All members voting Aye. Motion carried.

Special Meeting called to order by Supervisor Webb at 6:51 P.M.

Resolution No 16 - Tri-Lakes Humane Society Dog Control and Shelter Service

Tri-Lakes Humane Society contract for animal control within the Town for the period of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017 for the amount of $875.00.

On a motion by Rick Lyon seconded by Tom Kimpton the Board accepted and approved the contract. ALL AYE.

On a motion by Tom Kimpton seconded by Rick Lyon the Board accepted and approved the contract. ALL AYE.

Resolution No 18 - St. Regis Falls Fire District.

The contract is for fire coverage in District 1, the Hamlet of Santa Clara. The contract is for the period of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019. At a rate of $4,160.00 for the year of 2017, $4,240.00 for the year 2018 and $4,325.00 for the year 2019.

On a motion by Rick Lyon seconded by Tom Kimpton the Board accepted and approved the contract. ALL AYE.

Resolution No 19 - 2017 Town of Santa Clara Budget

Budget of the Town of Santa Clara for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2017.

Pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law the following proposed salaries of the following Town Officials are specified in said Budget:

    Supervisor: $14,537.00
    Councilman (4): $3,053.50 each
    Town Clerk: $11,281.00
    Tax Collector: $3,522.00
    Town Highway Superintendent: $42,978.00
    Town Justice: $4.431.00

On a motion by Rick Lyon seconded by Tom Kimpton the Board adopted the 2017 budget. ALL AYE.

Motion by Rick Lyon, seconded by Ton Kimpton to accept the 2017 contract from Cummins Northeast LLC in the amount of $1,872.00. The contract covers service twice a year on the generator for the Community Center/Town Hall. All members voting Aye. Motion carried.

Motion to adjourn at 7:03 P.M. made by Rick Lyon, seconded by Tom Kimpton. All members voting Aye. Motion carried.
