TOWN OF SANTA CLARA BOARD MEETINGS
Minutes of the Regular Monthly Meeting of the Santa Clara Town Board held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, Saranac Inn, NY Town Hall at 7:00 P.M.
Roll as follows for the Public Hearing and Regular Monthly Meeting:

Meeting called to order at 7 P.M. by Supervisor Webb.
Motion by Tom Kimpton, seconded by Rick Lyon to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting. All members voting Aye. Motion carried. Motion by John Murray, seconded by Dave Perry to accept the minutes.
Tentative Town Budget for 2019 was given to the Town Clerk by Supervisor Webb. The Board still needs to review the budget and make any necessary changes before the public hearing. The public hearing on the 2019 Town Budget will be on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 6:30 P.M..
Copies will be available for the public and it will also be put on the Town website.
Cold Storage Building – Supervisor Webb has been in contact with Andy Abdulla of Architectural & Engineering Design on the plans for the Highway Department cold storage building. The Town Board has questions that need to be answered before a contract will be signed with Architectural & Engineering Design. On a motion by Rick Lyon, seconded by John Murray, the Board authorized Supervisor Webb to sign the contract when all questions have been answered to the satisfaction of the Board. All members voting Aye. Motion carried.
Tax Refund – the final tax refund by the Town of Santa Clara to George A Donaldson & Sons has been made per the legal settlement. The approximate amount of the refund was $19,000.00.
Bartlett Carry Dam - Supervisor Webb advised that the Town Board has authorized $5,000.00 to be given to the Upper Saranac Foundation to assist with repairing the Bartlett Carry Dam.
Michelle Brown Garcia thanked the Board for donating to the repair of the Bartlett Carry Dam. Michelle advised that the Upper Saranac Foundation’s website shows the status of the repair progress on the dam.
Good of the Town
Andy McGill Superintendent of Highways advised the Board that the new truck should be delivered by the end of September. The State has approved the speed limit change on the Keese Mills Road to 35 MPH. New speed limit signs will be installed as soon as they arrive. The Everton Road in the Hamlet has had a culvert replaced.
Supervisor Webb advised that the Town will be purchasing a piece of equipment for the fire truck located at the Santa Clara Substation that will aide in fighting fires. As the Town has had very little success with the State of New York allowing dry hydrants, this equipment will allow water to be pumped from any source and eliminate the need for a dry hydrant.
General Fund vouchers No. 192 to 214 in the amount of $9,788.83 and Highway Fund vouchers No. 79 to 89 in the amount of $14,081.27 were audited by the Board. Motion by Rick Lyon seconded by Dave Perry to approve vouchers and pay audited vouchers. All members voting Aye. Motion carried.
