TOWN OF SANTA CLARA BOARD MEETINGS
Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting of the Santa Clara Town Board held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Saranac Inn, NY Town Hall at 6:00 P.M.

Regular board meeting called to order by Supervisor McGill at 6:00 P.M.
Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
Motion by John Murray, seconded by Mickey Webb to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting. All members voting Aye. Motion carried. Motion by Rick Lyon, seconded by John Murray to accept the minutes. All members voting Aye. Motion carried.
Marina Regulations Update - The Special Committee Marina Regulations were sent to the Town Planning Board at June's Board meeting to review and report back to the Town Board. The Planning Board just provided the town Board with their report on July 12th. The report consists of additions, changes and deletions suggested by the Planning Board. The Town Board will need time to review this document and discuss with Special Counsel. The Board will try to have a Special Meeting and go into executive session to discuss the changes with Special Counsel before the next Town Board meeting in August. Notice of the special meeting will be published when and if a date is set.
Short Term Rental Update
The Town Board is still reviewing the draft Short Term Rental Law that has been proposed by the Planning Board. The Board will also be researching companies that can support the process of registering the owners of the properties being rented on a short term basis.
Regular Meeting for August is tentatively set for Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. The Town Board agreed to change the start time of all Town Board meetings to 6:00 P.M. going forward.
Dave Powalyk inquired if the Town Board would live stream the Town Board meetings. The Board discussed and advised they would look into it.
Guy Middleton inquired if any work has been done on a salt shed grant. A grant is being explored but nothing has been done at this time.
Michelle Brown-Garcia thanked the Town for once again allowing her to hold the Boater Safety Course in the community room.
Good of the Town
Mickey Webb reported that the paperwork for the American Rescue Plan Act has been submitted to New York State. The Town is to receive approximately $34,000.00.
Highway Superintendent Scott LaMay was absent but reported to the Town Supervisor that he is down one employee. The employee is out on medical leave for 6 to 8 weeks. Scott and his one remaining employee are busy with mowing and maintaining the roads the best they can with only 2 people.
General Fund vouchers - No. 122 to 145 in the amount of $23,961.13 and Highway Fund vouchers No. 44 to 52 in the amount of $6,418.38 were audited by the Board. Motion by Rick Lyon seconded by John Murray to approve vouchers and pay audited vouchers. All members voting Aye. Motion carried.
Motion to adjourn at 7:45 P.M. made by Dave Perry, seconded by Rick Lyon. All members voting Aye. Motion carried.
