VARIANCE BOARD TOWN OF SANTA CLARA

 The Variance Board of the Town of San ta Clara, County of Franklin, State of New York, will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, April 25th at 6:00 PM at the Santa Clara Town Hall, Route 30, Saranac Inn, New York, to hear comments on the following application:

Application of Revocable Trust of Douglas Colson and Revocable Trust of Kathleen Colson would require a variance for an increase in size to an existing non-conforming structure. This variance would be on the applicants’ property at 745 Bartlett Carry Rd., Tupper Lake, NY 12986, Town of Santa Clara, Franklin County, New York, Tax Map 474.1-6.900.

 The proposed variance is: The applicants wish to increase the size of a deck to create a screened in dining porch at their seasonal residence. The dimensions of the existing deck are 13 ft 8 inches by 15 ft 10 inches. The dimensions of the proposed deck are 16 ft 2 inches by 19 ft 10 inch es. Section 8.30 of the Town of Santa Clara Land Use Code (Non conformity, Other Than Use) prevents the increase in size of a non-conforming structure. The structure is non- conforming due to its partial location within the 75 ft setback from the water.

The variance application of the Revocable Trust of Douglas Colson and the Revocable Trust of Kathleen Colson is available for public review and inspection at the office of the Santa Clara Town Clerk, Santa Clara Town Hall, 5367 State Route 30, Saranac Inn, NY, during the Clerk’s business hours.  Anyone wishing to comment on the variance application may do so, either personally or by authorizing a representative to comment. Comments can be made verbally at the Public Hearing. Comments may also be submitted in writing, either at the Public Hearing or via United States mail addressed to: Variance Board Chairperson- Town of Santa Clara, Nancy La Bombard, 41 Kimpton Rd., Saranac Lake, NY 12983. Comments submitted by U.S. Mail must be received by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 24,2024.
