PRESENT: Board Members: Scottie Adams, Beth Hall, John LaHart, Bill Young, Mike Ritchie and Code Enforcement Officer, Ed Lagree.
The meeting was called to order by Chair, Scottie Adams at 11:00 AM
The main topic for the meeting was to finalize the updated Land Use Map.
Several differences between the updated map and the Franklin County Tax Map were noted but none affected the Land use designation, so no changes need to be made. However there is a difference in the updated map and the original map in the northern section of the town. Several parcels of land that are designated R-8.5 on the original map are designated R-42.7 on the updated map. Since the original map was based on the APA Land Use designations, the updated map should be corrected to show the R 8.5 designation.
Other anomalies were observed in the southern map in the Hoel Pond, Green Pond, and Gordon Pond area. The shoreline along these ponds is being shown as State Land and this is not the case since the tax rolls show these lots as waterfront. The color on these lots should be filled in to the shoreline. There are other areas in which waterfront edge is shown as being state land (Paradise Lane and along the St. Regis river) but these are all correct and can be checked on the Franklin County Tax GIS map.
The Code Enforcement Officer advised that the recent boathouse application approved by the Planning Board was under review by the DEC because is does not have direct access to the water, is considered dry storage and should be on land. In light of this development perhaps the Boathouse definition should be amended. All members should send suggestions to Scottie as soon as possible so it can be included in the proposed amendments to the Land Use Code being considered by the Town Board at their next meeting.
John LaHart moved that the meeting be adjourned. Beth Hall seconded the motion. All were in favor. Meeting was adjourned 2:45 PM.
