Paul Smiths Gabriels Fire Contract:    NOTICE OF PUBLIC  HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Santa Clara at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at the Santa Clara Town Hall, 5367 State Route 30, Saranac Inn, New York for the purpose of considering a new fire protection contract with the Paul Smiths-Gabriels Volunteer Fire Department Inc. The terms of the proposed contract include that the said Fire District shall answer and attend upon all calls for emergency fire protection in the Town of Santa Clara Fire Protection District 2; that the contract term shall be for a period of five (5) years commencing January 1, 2026 and terminating December 31, 2030; and that the amounts to be paid by the Town of Santa Clara to the Paul Smiths-Gabriels Volunteer Fire Department for providing such fire protection shall be: $7,674.00 for the year 2026, $7,904.00 for the year 2027, $8,141.00 for the year 2028, $8,385.00 for the year 2029 and $8,637.00 for the year 2030. Welcome to the Town of Santa Clara, New York

Santa Clara is a town in Franklin County, New York, in the Malone metro area. The population was 332 at the 2020 census. Population in the year 2010: 345.

Santa Clara, a town within the Adirondack Park. Southwest of the Village of Malone, is the second largest town in Franklin County. The south part of the town is dominated by numerous lakes. Including 58 ponds of the Saint Regis Canoe Area. Presently the only Canoe Wilderness Area in the park, as well as most of 4,700-acre (19 km2) Upper Saranac Lake.

Formed from part of the Town of Brandon in 1888. The Town of Santa Clara, the name, was derived from the wife of an early town businessman, John Hurd. An addition from Brandon was added to Santa Clara in 1896.

William Rockefeller began buying property in the town around 1896 in order of establish an estate, used by members of his family during the summer.

The latitude of Santa Clara is 44.463N. The longitude is -74.391W. It is in the Eastern Standard time zone. Elevation is 1,588 feet. Land Area is 175.02 Square miles.
