Public Notice Sealed Bids Salt/Sand Shed

PUBLIC NOTICE

REQUEST FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor and material necessary for the construction of the Town of Santa Clara Salt/Sand Storage Building, Contract No. 1 – General Construction will be received by the Town of Santa Clara, 5359 State Route 30, Saranac Lake, New York 12983 until 11:00 A.M. local time May 29, 2025 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bids will be received for the following Contract:

Contract No.1 – General Construction: The project is for construction of a new Pre-Engineered Fabric Building (PEFB) that will be used by the Town of Santa Clara to store salt and sand materials at its town hall building located at 5359 State Route 30, Saranac Lake, New York 12983. The PEFB will be 72’-0” wide x 111’-9” long and will be supported on new cast-in-place concrete walls and foundations. The project includes asphalt paved floor within the PEFB, site grade adjustments.     

Contract Documents, including Advertisement For Bids, Information For Bidders, Labor and Employment, Additional Instructions, Bid Documents, Agreement, General Conditions, General Requirements, Specifications, Contract Drawings and any Addenda, may be examined at no expense at the office of Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C., 443 Electronics Parkway, Liverpool, New York 13088. Each bid must be accompanied by security in an amount not less than five percentum (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of opening thereof.

               This is an exempt capital improvement project, and Bidders shall not include in their bid sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials which are to be incorporated into the work and which are to be separately sold by the Contractor to the Town of Santa Clara prior to incorporation into the work of the Contract.

            A Pre-Bid Meeting is not scheduled.  For appointments to visit the project site, contact Town Supervisor, Robert Curry at (518) 354-8348 to schedule site visit.

Bids will not be accepted from Bidders determined to be a “Non-Responsible Entity” by the New York State Office of General Services.  This Project is a “Covered Project” under New York State Labor Law 220-I and the Bidder must hold a valid Certificate of Registration from the New York State Department of Labor to submit a Bid and at all times for the duration of the Work.  Bids will not be accepted from Bidders that have not registered or that have been barred from competing on public works under General Municipal Law 5A-103-b.

            The attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract.

The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids.
